Biography
I joined the University of St Andrews in September 2021, where I coordinate the language teaching provision in the Italian Department at sub-Honours and Honours level.
I completed a PhD in Comparative Literature in 2020 at Bangor University, in North Wales, where I taught Italian language and culture from 2014 to 2021. My doctoral thesis entitled 'Subtexts of Subversion: Counter-Hegemonic Discourses in Contemporary Fiction under Neoliberalism' explored the ways in which contemporary literature challenges the indisputability of the neoliberal discourse and provides a critique of the status quo.
In 2021, I obtained a DITALS II qualification from the Università per Stranieri di Siena, which certifies an advanced competence in teaching Italian as a foreign language.
I hold a BA in 'Lettere' (Arts) and an MA in Italian Studies and Linguistics from the University of Bologna, Italy.
I am an Associate Fellow of Advance HE.
