The School offers a number of taught postgraduate programmes.

Programme structure

The MSc programmes offered by the School consist of a taught part and a dissertation part.

The taught part equates to two semesters of lectures from September to May.

The dissertation part equates to a three-month period, ending in mid-August, in which you will write a 15,000-word dissertation.

The Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) involves only the taught part and ends in May.

RSS accreditation

The Royal Statistical Society (RSS) has accredited the MSc programmes in Statistics, in Applied Statistics and Data Mining, and in Data-Intensive Analysis.

Subject to fulfilling the necessary requirements in the taught and dissertation parts, graduates of these programmes are entitled to apply to the Society for the professional status of Graduate Statistician (GradStat) without the need for further examination.
