Coursework submission
Written assignments should be submitted as follows:
- All assignments must be word-processed.
- All coursework assignments have a word limit and this is clearly indicated as part of the assignment information. Reference lists and any appended material are excluded from the word limit.
To provide some flexibility, the module coordinator will accept assignments that are over or under the word limit by 10%. Assignments that exceed this +10% flexible limit will be penalised at the rate of one mark (on the 20-point scale) for every 10% over the word limit. No penalties will be applied for work that is under the word limit, however not making full use of the word count is likely to mean that you have not fully addressed the requirements of the coursework and the mark received may reflect this. - All assignments should be accompanied by the coursework cover sheet, which is found on the Handbook home page for your programme.
- Assignments must be uploaded to MMS and submitted by 12 noon on the day of the deadline. MMS, the University's Module Management System, is a centralised system that is used to oversee student academic results and module records. The maximum file size for MMS submissions is 20 MB. It is your responsibility to ensure files submitted comply with the size requirement. Further information on the operation of MMS will be provided at the start of your studies with the School.
- Assignments should conform to the Harvard style of reference and be accompanied by a full bibliography of items referenced in the text.
Management has various types of assignments, including tests and presentations, for different types of modules. Information about these assignments is provided by the module coordinator.
