Research centre hosts visiting scholar
From January 2023, the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research (CSEAR) welcomed Ishwar Khatri as a visiting scholar from Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has provided this report from his time in St Andrews.
I am thankful to CSEAR at the School of Management, University of St Andrews for hosting me for three months research stay. I chose CSEAR due to its research focus on social and environmental accounting, corporate governance and business ethics issues which match my research areas. Also, the centre has large international networks and its own journal which make it an attractive place for researchers.
From the beginning until the end of my research visit, CSEAR was so welcoming and supportive in making my visit a better experience. I really appreciate the hospitality shown by the CSEAR office.
As a visiting PhD researcher, I got the opportunity of participating and sharing research experience in several research events. I also interacted with editorial board members of the CSEAR journal, Social and Environmental Accountability Journal, which provided valuable learning about publishing in the journal. I will consider this journal for my future publications.
Visiting the CSEAR was also an opportunity to expand my academic and research networks. I had a chance to interact with researchers from different well-established research centres at the School of Management. As a result, I benefited from research suggestions given by researchers at different centres at the School – I even started a research project together with one. Finally, I appreciate the souvenirs gifted by the School of Management.
The School extends all good wishes to Ishwar for the future.
