Including rural and remote communities

22 April 2022

Dr Laurence Lasselle, Senior Lecturer with the School of Management, will present a University of St Andrews "Saints Talk" on Tuesday 26 April 2022. She will discuss her research on the topic, The Challenge of 'Rural Deprivation' in the Fair Access to Higher Education Policy.

Dr Lasselle's key research area is widening participation in Scottish higher education, with a focus on access to higher education for Scottish rural and remote communities.

In this talk she will consider why, in the context of the Scottish Government's targets for inclusion of students from deprived communities in higher education, schools located in rural and remote communities could become overlooked.

This online event is one in a series of Saints Talks organised by Development at the University of St Andrews as part of their work to strengthen links with graduates and supporters of the University, and is open to all.
