4th Conference on Contemporary Issues in Banking

The Centre for Responsible Banking & Finance (CRBF) hosted the 4th Contemporary Issues in Banking Conference in December 2021. The conference was organised by Professor John Wilson, Dr Anna Sobiech, Dr Dimitris Chronopoulos and Dr Linh Nguyen, and was attended by scholars from Asia, Europe and North and Latin America.

Over 2 days, 16 papers were presented by academics from leading business schools and economists based at policy bodies including the Federal Reserve, National Bank of Belgium, Banco de Portugal, and Banco de México.

The wide variety of topics addressed included:

  • bank business models
  • collateral enforcement
  • systemic risk
  • capital regulation
  • trade credit
  • green banking
  • bank mis-conduct
  • bank privatisation.
