Winter graduation 2021: taught postgraduate prizes
In the run-up to graduation, the School of Management is sharing stories from the recipients of the School's taught postgraduate (Masters) prizes, which are traditionally awarded at the Winter graduation. This first story in the series is a reflection written by Lauren Charter, winner of the Head of School Prize 2021.
My time at St Andrews has been transformational, allowing me to meet such interesting and diverse people from around the world. St Andrews truly prepared me for my future career, as my degree helped me secure a position at the British Medical Association in the CSER and Wellbeing department.
Most important to me, St Andrews provided me the opportunity to learn and work with amazing teachers, who pushed my intellectual curiosity and guided my research endeavours. Their encouragement helped provide the opportunity for me to speak at the Association of Medical Education in Europe's virtual conference in August 2021, where I presented my research on the motivation and intention of medical students to practice in rural and remote Scotland.
A special thanks to all of them for growing my academic interests and making my time here so valuable. I'll forever be grateful for my time at St Andrews and this step in my education.
