Spotlight on Honorary staff

17 August 2021

The School of Management is delighted to welcome two returning members of Honorary staff and one new Honorary Professor.

In summer 2021, Sally Dibb returns as Honorary Professor, bringing expertise spanning a wide range of topics including consumer behaviour, marketing, sustainable living and the application of 'big data'. She is a member of the School's Organisations and Society thematic research group.

Also returning to the School this summer is Honorary Lecturer Claire Methven O'Brien. Claire's international research portfolio includes a project investigating the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and UN Sustainable Development Goals, undertaken with colleagues in the Accounting, Governance and Organisations thematic research group and the Centre for Social and Environmental Accounting Research.

Kathy Lund Dean is joining the School for the first time as Honorary Professor in September 2021. Kathy is the Board of Trustees Distinguished Chair in Leadership and Ethics at Gustavus Adolphus College. Her research includes work on academic career trajectories, cooperative infrastructures among municipal leaders, and the ethics of experiential pedagogy.

Kathy has been a leader in the Academy of Management as former division chair and inaugural ethics blogger for The Ethicist. She held an editorial role at the Journal of Management Education for 19 years, and co-founded its 'sibling' publication Management Teaching Review. She is on the editorial board of Academy of Management Learning and Education as well as the Journal of Management Inquiry.

As a member of the School of Management's Knowledge and Practice thematic research group, Kathy's activities will include skills workshops and mentoring for research students and early career academics, which will focus on the development of academic research articles through submission and revision processes, the scholarship of teaching and learning, and ethical issues.
