Support for postgraduate taught students
IELLI provides a wide range of training and support for Postgraduate Taught students. Many of these are run in conjunction with St Leonard's College, who provide a range of training and information on their website. Other offerings include:
M-Skills
M-Skills is a programme of skills development workshops and activities to help Masters students during their studies. Workshops include support with digital skills, writing at PGT level, organisation and time management, and dissertation support.
Mentoring
IELLI coordinates a number of mentoring schemes for undergraduate and postgraduate students
Graduate Attribute portal
Students can track how they are building their graduate skills throughout their time in St Andrews. The platform lets them log the activities they do inside and outside of the classroom to boost employability.
Saints Skills Builder award
Students can work towards an award that is listed on the HEAR degree transcript, recognising how they have developed a range of skills.
Academic Skills tutorials
Students can book a one-to-one tutorial on a range of topics including essay writing, note-taking, studying for exams and time management.
Mathematics and statistics tutorials
Mathematics and Statistics appointments are available on a wide range of topics with our experienced postgraduate tutors.
Academic English Language tutorials
Students can book a one-to-one tutorial to help with written and spoken academic communication
Microsoft certification and other IT training
Students can study for a recognised qualification in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) which is listed on their HEAR degree transcript, as well as some Adobe platforms and more.
Coaching
Students can apply for a personal coach who can help students set and achieve goals through developing self-leadership skills.
