IELLI initiative wins BAS Impactful Collaboration Award

29 October 2024

IELLI staff including Paula Villegas Verdu, Eilidh Harris, Rebecca Wilson and former CEED developer Lucy Hall (now based at Heriot Watt) were winners of the BAS Impactful Collaboration 2024 award. The award was given for work setting up the Academic Development Community, which has since become the Learning and Writing Centre.

The BAS Impactful Collaboration award is now in its second year, and was initially set up to help showcase more widely the value of collaboration with colleagues in a variety of roles across institutions. The team's work was commended by IELLI Director Eoin Jordan:

It is fantastic to see this collaborative work recognised through this award. The collaboration described in the application provided the initial impetus for broader integration, which has now ultimately led to the beneficial joining together of the two different parts of the university where the collaborators were based, to form a new institute.

Further details on the work done by the group in creating the ADS/LWC, and the process of winning the award, can be found on sway via the BALEAP website here - 2024 Impactful Collaboration Winner.
