What you can access and borrow.
Browse and borrow using the self-service machines in all libraries which hold collections. You can also access a large amount of diverse and high-quality electronic resources and use the inter-library loan service if we do not hold the item you need.
- Staff (including honorary and emeritus) can borrow 50 physical items, access all of the online resources made available by the libraries and use the inter-library loan service.
- Postgraduates (including St Leonard's Associate Scheme members) can borrow 40 physical items, access all of the online resources made available by the libraries and use the inter-library loan service.
- Undergraduates can borrow 25 physical items, access all of the online resources made available by the libraries and use the inter-library loan service.
- Retired staff can borrow 30 physical items. Please request access to the libraries and collections by contacting Human Resources. Access does not include electronic resources or inter-library loans as our licence agreements cover current staff and students of the institution.

What you can access and borrow.
The University's libraries welcome visiting academics.
Those participating in the University's Visiting Scholarship Scheme have the same access to our libraries as University staff. You can borrow 50 physical items, have access to our online resources and can use the inter-library loan service.
Your University ID card provides access to our physical buildings and can be used to borrow books. At the end of your visit, please return all borrowed items to the library.
If you would like an introduction to the libraries, email library@st-andrews.ac.uk
Access to our facilities and resources is subject to the Library Regulations which include guidance on the acceptable use of our online resources.

How to join and what you can access, including JSTOR.

To join, bring:
- two forms of ID, one photographic, such as a passport or driving licence
