Flexible Worker Assignment (FWA)
Flexible Worker Assignments (FWA) can be used for:
- regular, scheduled work or ad hoc work over a set period
- up to full time hours
- up to 15 weeks (or 17 weeks by exception and with the agreement of your HR Business Partner)
- non students and former students
Current students may be employed on an FWA for up to 12 months (unless they are due to complete their studies earlier in which case they can work up to that date). There may be restrictions on the number of hours they can work depending on what type of student they are. You may wish to consider advertising the post with Careers as well as within your own School/Unit.
All FWAs should be funded from your casual salaries budget or an external cost centre.
Postgraduate students undertaking more regular tutoring/teaching work may also be employed on a Graduate Teaching Assignment (GTA).
Full details, contracts and conditions of all flexible working arrangements (including GTAs) can be found on our Flexible Worker webpages.
