A James Braimer is said to have been both a colonel in the Swedish army, a Scot, and brother-in-law to Alexander Leslie, Earl of Leven [SSNE 1]. No colonel of this name has yet been identified in the Swedish muster-rolls, and further research will be required to demonstrate exactly who he was and where he served.
