John Hamilton was a lieutenant in Sergeant-Major Andrew Caddel's [SSNE 8008] company in the Scots-Dutch Brigade. He, along with Caddel, Ensign Johnson [SSNE 8192], and the company sergeant were taken prisoner by the Spanish at Callo in 1638.
