Captain Adamson was a Scottish officer in Dutch service in the 1570s. He appears in the pay lists of Holland for 1573-1574. It is possible that this is the same John Adamson who was granted a license to serve in the Low Countries on 16 July 1573, whose cautioner was John Adamson, burgess in Edinburgh.
