Nicholas Palmer was an English officer in the service of Holland in the 1570s. He appears as a captain in the pay lists of Holland in 1573 (Ferguson, p. 36). David Trim writes that Palmer and his company were discharged from Dutch service after Leiden in 1574, but that he continued serving in the Low Countries in the Huguenot regiments. He served from 1578-1579 as sergeant-major under Henry Cavendish (Trim, pp. 395-396).
