John Murray was one of the original captains of Colonel Buccleuch’s [SSNE 5010] regiment in the Scots-Dutch brigade. He joined sometime between 20 December 1603-17 April 1604. He commanded 150 men with a salary of £1925. He was dead by 24 November 1604 and command of his company fell to John Halkett [SSNE 7966], who may have been his lieutenant.
