David Kinard matriculated at the Seminary of Braunsberg in the diocese of Ermland (Warmia) on 27 September 1599 along with fellow Scot Thomas Abircrombæus [SSNE 7869]. He became a Jesuit Father and went to Vilnius, but left sometime in 1601. He taught philosophy but was captured in 1626 when Braunsberg was taken by Gustav II Adolf. He was released from captivity after several years but died in Niezvies on 29 March 1648, probably having spent his time there teaching at the Jesuit College which was connected to the Seminary of Braunsberg.
