Wilhelmus Duglasius matriculated at the Seminary of Braunsberg in the diocese of Ermland (Warmia) on 6 August 1596 along with fellow Scot Jacobus Lindsæus [SSNE 7875]. On 29 November 1600 he and Lindsæus were sent to Vilnius to continue his studies at his own expense, owing to some disciplinary issues. Duglasius died "bearing the standard of Smolensk" in 1610 during the siege of the city by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
