Hans (John) Williamson is noted as one of the Scottish officers who failed to muster some Scottish cavalry between October 1567 and January 1568, and who as a result would not be in receipt of his annual payment. Williamson is further described as 'spelman', that is musician, and that he was subsequently appointed as royal court 'cantor' and composer in May 1568. He remained in royal Swedish service in this position until 1580.
