Robert Johnson was master of the Swedish ship, The Smith of Ronneby. He was taken prisoner by one Captain William Maston and imprisoned for 7 weeks in Scarborough during the second Anglo-Dutch war. As a Swedish subject, this caused outrage by the Swedish resident who demanded restitution of the ship and cargo, as well as "exemplary punishment" for Captain Maston.SRA Anglica 543.
