John Agnew was master of a ship called The Three Crowns of Stockholm. His ship was taken by an English man-o-war in 1703 and Agnew found himself before the English Admiralty Court. In the deposition of his mate (Robert Kay, a resident of Leith), it was observed that Agnew was both a citizen of Stocholm and had lived there at least four years.SRA, Anglica, VII, 546.
