John Watson paid taxes in Denmark in 1611, and sent a lamb to Copenhagen that year. He was a goldsmith, and a member of St. Canute's guild in 1620. In 1628 he paid excise of malt. He also served in the urban militia in 1624 (with a gun) and 1628, when he was to be a sentry. He had died by 30/1/1645, when his widow Margrete's [later married Hans Klerck) estate was assessed, leaving a net surplus of 262 dr. 5 mk. 13 sk. A Hans Hansen Watson [SSNE 956] parson of Sveg, Norway, was probably his sonT. Riis, Should Auld Acquaintance Be Forgot (Odense, 1988), II, p.174.
