Text source
Magnus Wilson was a skipper in the city of Bremen where he first appeared in local records in 1651. He acquired citizen rights on 4 February 1658, his sponsors being the Bremen citizens Hinrich Lifflander and Bert Detjen. Wilson married three times in Bremen, first to a woman with the surname 'Ahleke'. An overview over Wilson's journeys between 1653-1681 - which took him frequently to Scotland - can be found in Kurt Schwebel's monograph (pp.56-60).
