Andrew Skene of Aberdeen received an appointment as a company factor on behalf of Mr Thomas Lumsdell to represent the interests of Messrs. S. Calynholt and J. Cunningham, merchants of CadizL.B. Taylor, ed., Aberdeen Council Letters (6 vols., Oxford: 1942-1961), III, pp.225-227. Letter of appointment as company factor, 11 September 1653. This proved to be an unhappy arrangement. Register of the Great Seal of Scotland, X, p.163. No. 363, Assignation from the Protector, 6 January 1655. This document notes a legal transaction which involved another Scottish factor in Veere, Thomas Lumsden with whom he had a dispute ongoing from 1654 and which lasted well into the 1660s.
