Margartetha Lyall (1649 - 31 March 1694) was the daughter of James Lyall of Arbroath [SSNE 4934] and Margaretha Eden (1627-1653). She married the Stockholm banker Johan Gerdes (d.1687), son of Johan Gert Gerdes, born in Lubeck, Germany, and Anna Simonsdotter Depken who died in Stockholm on 7 Apr 1668 and is buried in the Storkyrka there. It Margaretha Lyell's grandson Johan Gerdessköld (1698-1768) who was president of the court of appeal, and who eventually inherited the Leijel fortune.
