John Slocumbe of London erected a house in Elbing 'Siebengieberlhaus' (House of the seven gables) on the site of an old inn. The building has the coats of arms of the Eastland Company, the cities of London and Elbing and the Grocer's Livery Company. He was buried in St Mary's church in Elbing in 1621. He had been married to Barbara Schultz.
