Thomas Gilmore was a merchant resident in Gothenburg in 1639. In July of that year he bought 400 ship's pounds of iron to sell for 9 rixdaler the pound. The council declined to buy it, and Gilmore was advised he could only sell it to other burgesses in the burgh "at no cheaper rate".
