HEY, JOSHUA [SSNE 7150]
Text source
Joshua Hey was a merchant with some contact with Andrew Russell [SSNE 143] in Rotterdam. He had some connection with the Baltic trade. One letter of his from London in 1671 shows a connection to Konigsberg where he noted Russell's money had been made good to him by one Mr Benson [SSNE 7146]. A Mr Hey is later mentioned by James Adie [SSNE 7080] in Danzig in 1686 and it is possible that they are the same man. Sprcifically it was recorded that Hey had paid two bills for £1200 Scots on behalf of Adie. Hey had a brother called Daniel who was also involved in trade (location uncertain).
