Account books for 1577-1578 note the presence in Norway of one Peter Nisbit of Kirkebostad in Shetland. He had a son, Jacob Pedersson Nisbett [SSNE 6819] who was recorded as a faithful servant of Peder Simonsson of Fane. He too was recorded as a Shetlander.
