Robert Crieff appeared at Stockholm city court on two occasions between 14 and 21 July 1595. His uncle, Thomas Crieff [SSNE 6749] had been killed in Stockholm a year previously so Robert had come to prove his legitimate claim to his compensation. 100 daler had been paid by Hans Rode, a merchant from Reval, who had accidentally killed Thomas, and the money was subsequently handed over to Robert. In October the previous year a James/Jacob Greiff [SSNE 6750] had also appeared seeking compensation for Thomas' death, but would not take the moneyD.
