ELLERT, HENRIK [SSNE 6715]
Text source
Henrik Ellert is said to have been a Scottish merchant burgess of Stockholm c.1604. This is probably the same Henry Ellert noted in Stockholmsstads tankeboker for 1577 and 1578 (or perhaps his relative?) as being a Scottish merchant, and being a servant of James Clerk (Jacob Clerich). There is a reference to his wife in 1615.C. Dalhede, Handelsfamiljer på Stormaktstidens Europamarknad (3 vols., Partille, 2001), II, p.423. Curt Haij, 'Skottar i Stockholm under 1600-talet', unpublished list of names, Hintze biblioteket, Genealogiska Föreningen, Sundbyberg, Stockholm. Thanks to Ardis Dreisbach for this information.
