DOUGLAS, ROBERT [SSNE 6649]
Text source
Robert Douglas was a captain in Swedish service. In 1614 he led a troop of Västgöta soldiers. This is probably the same as the Robert "Duglitz" who in 1617 was occupying a Finnish stronghold on behalf of the Swedish crown. This is possibly the same as the Robert Douglas who was a colonel by 1631,and noted as a "Scottish Ancient" at the battle of Breitenfeld where he died.
