GIBSON?, JOHN [SSNE 6576]
Text source
John Gibson/Giedtzen travelled to Copenhagen in 1611 in an attempt to obtain payment for a ship that he had sold to Steen Matson of Bohus, Norway. The ship was worth 700 rigsdaler, and King Christian IV of Denmark-Norway was keen to get the issue settled without involving King James VI and INorske Rigsregistranter, vol.4 (1870), p.445.
