Patrick Maxwell is mentioned in a letter by Edward Kennoway who lived in Danzig. In June 1673 (f.9) Edward wrote to his brother John noting that he had been in Stockholm and had got himself into "a laberinth of misery" in Sweden. He would have been better off had he had Patrick Maxwell's recommendation to any merchant there, suggesting he was a key player in trade between Danzig and Stockholm
