MAXWELL, DAVID [SSNE 6299]
Text source
David Maxwell is mentioned in a couple of letters from Danzig written by Edward Kennoway. On 16 July 1671 (f.1) Kennoway wrote to his brother John noting that he had received the latter's first letter in Danzig in 1669. These mentioned his own earlier letters from Danzig and Konigsberg. John Purdie had been with Kennoway in Danzig but had since returned to Scotland. The letter also mentioned David Maxwell who had met with Purdie and was now in Danzig and also Kennoway's other brother James. On 5 April 1672 Edward sent another letter (f.2) mentioning brother James to John and also that he had written home via Maxwell. Little else is yet known of this manNAS, Kinross House Papers, GD 29/2068/1-2
