James Kennoway lived in Danzig and Konigsberg where he employed his brother, Edward. On 16 July 1671 (f.1) Edward wrote to his other brother, John, noting that he had received the latter's first letter in Danzig in 1669. The letter mentioned John Purdie, David Maxwell and James Kennoway. On 5 April 1672 Edward sent another letter (f.2) mentioning brother James to John and also that he had written home via Maxwell. Little else is known so far about this man
