Hans Gahn senior worked in Stockholm as a merchant. He employed a man of the same name, denoted as 'Scotus' when he became a burgess in Falun in 1649. They were probably related to each other. There is no connection between this family and that of the Cahun, Colquhoun or Cavun till Canonheielm
