Harald Belfrage was born in Värmland in March 1682. He served as a muskateer in the Livgard in March 1699 and then as an NCO in the Vestgöta Dals regiment in April 1700. From there he transferred to the Närke och Vermlands where he became a lieutenant, before transferring back to the Vestgöta in 1706. He became a captain in December 1709. Belfrage was captured at Tönningen in May 1713, but was released by July. He left service in January 1718 and died in July 1721. He is buried in Gunnarsnäs Church. Harald married Elisabeth Hård.A.
