Text source
Andrew Innes was amongst the Scots and English in Lublin who subscribed to the subsidy for King Charles II in 1651. He appears to have been exempted from paying anything. This is probably the same Andrew Innes who was ennobled in Poland in 1662A.B. Pernal and R.P. Gasse, The 1651 Polish Subsidy to the exiled Charles II, Oxford Slavonic Papers, vol xxxii (Oxford, 1999), p.30; Z. Guldon and L. Stepkowski, Szkoci i Anglicy w Koronie w polowie XVII wieku, Kieleckie Studia Historyczne, ii (1977); R. Frost, "Scottish soldiers, Poland-Lithuania and the Thirty Years' War" in S. Murdoch ed. Scotland and the Thirty Years' War, 1618-1648 (Brill, 2001), p.211.
