Text source
Robert Douglas entered Danish service c.1/12/1627 and served in Scania, at Wolgast and at Stralsund 1628. He received his reckoning on 16 September 1628. This may be the same as Robert Douglas who entered Swedish service by 1629 as a lieutenant in James Spens' [SSNE 1642] regiment. it is possibly this man mentioned in a letter of Drummer Major James Spens [SSNE 6860] in the context of his wife travelling to join him in the Riga garrison in October 1628
