Text source
The Englsih merchant, William Frost, lent 800 dalers to Nils Meng, 2nd lieutenant in Hausman's regiment which was noted in a letter of 18 December 1700. On 10 September 1703, the magistrate in Halden was ordered to do an audit of William Frost's books and send a report on them to the king because William had died in Copenhagen. On 1 April 1702, Christian Frost was ordered to appoint a commissioner in a local dispute in Trondheim. This man was reported as dead by 2 December 1702 and it is possible the two men were brothers.
