Charles Kinlin was an ensign in the Vesterlenske national infantry regiment in the Rabygdelagske company from 1 November 1690. He then served in the North Telemarkske company from 1 January 1701, where he became a 2nd lieutenant in 1703 and a 1st lieutenant in 1704. He returned to the Rabygdelagske company in 1709, where he became the captain and chief of the company in 1710. He had left by 1711. He was married to Maren Bugge (who lived from 1661-1745, daughter of Valle priest Setesdal Esaisas Bygge and Mete Berits datter)O. Ovenstad, Militaerbiografier Den Norske Haers Officerer, vol.
