Adam de Colone (f.1622-1628), worked as an artist in London in 1622. He copied Marcus Gheeraerts portrait of Alexander Seton and thereafter painted portraits of James VI in 1623 and Thomas Hamilton in 1624. He left Britain in 1625 and travelled through the Low Countries. The same year he painted George Seton, 3rd Earl of Winton and his two sons. Some 23 paintings by him of Scottish noblemen survive, and thoughout his life he maintained connections with Scotland and the Netherlands.Allgemeines Kunsterlexicon Internationale Kunstlerdatenbank.
