Edward Montague, 1635-1665, was the eldest son of the 2nd Baron Montague. He served as a mediator between his cousin, Admiral Edward Montague, Earl of Sandwich, and Charles II in April 1660. From 1661-1665 Montague represented Sandwich at Parliament, and also served as the Master of Horse to Queen Catherine. He died in Bergen in August 1665 during an attack on the Dutch East India fleetDNB
