In 1611 William Paterson provided a birthbrieve from Stirling, dated 30 August 1608, paid 20 Hungarian pieces, a gun and half a stone of gunpowder to become a citizen of Cracow. In 1625 William Peterson, trader and citizen of Cracow and presumably the same man, made declarations on behalf of the legitimacy of three fellow Scots: Nathaniel Kieyth [SSNE 5118] and James Karmicheal [SSNE 5077] and Peter Wood [SSNE 5078]
