MUIR, ALEXANDER [SSNE 5061]
Text source
Alexander Muir was a naval captain in Polish service in 1622. He is variously called a pirate and freebooter, although he probably formed part of the regular Polish navy then under development by Colonel James Murray. He is known to have worked in Poland with another Scottish naval captain, Michael Kloch.
