Sir James Colyear, 3rd son of Colonel Alexander Colyear [SSNE 5040] apparently served in the Dutch army as a lieutenant-colonel after 9 May 1694. He was killed in 1702. See Sir James Balfour Paul, The Scots Peerage (8 vols., 1904-1911), VII, p.91.
