Major John Kirkpatrick junior served as a Major in the regiment of his relative [father?] and namesake, Colonel John Fitzpatrick. He succeeded as Captain of John Riddel's company on 19 February 1644, having previously been a lieutenant in Colonel Fitzpatrick's. He became Sergeant-Major of Kirkpatrick's on 12 July 1662. He appears to have died before 6 October 1670 when his company was taken over by Maurits de Savoy.J.
