This Alexander Leslie has not yet been identified. His index card in Riksarkiv suggests that he is not the same man as Alexander Leslie Earl of Leven [SSNE 1], or any relative thereof. The letters relating to him have yet to be read by the authors. He is called Field Marshal and the letter to the Swedish king apparently concerns his decommissioning from Swedish service in 1683. He appears to have had some connection to the western side of Sweden
